Major engine maintenance by Cummins-Metro Power in May of 2009. Scope of maintenance and overhaul work was based on years in service rather than hours and included the following: Port Engine: New head gasket, new injectors, new water pump new after cooler and new heat exchanger. Starboard Engine: Replaced by Cummins-Metro Power with same spec. factory re-manufactured engine. This was a recommendation after observed cylinder failure during sea trials upon completion of major maintenance work.
New larger main engine thru hulls (2" IOD)including new GROCO seacocks strainers were installed as a recommendation to improve cooling of the engines. Strainers are easily accessible for clean-outs.
